Can I request additional product photos before purchasing?

Yes— absolutely. We encourage customers to ask for additional photos to ensure you feel confident in your purchase. Because all sales are final, we’re happy to provide as much detail as you need before ordering. Please contact makiakreations@gmail.com, and we’ll send more images upon request.
Why might my product look different in color than the photos online?

Colors may look a slightly different in photos because of lighting, and each handcrafted board has its own natural variation. If you’d like more photos or have questions about a specific product, we’ll gladly provide them.
Can I add my own image or design inlay to a board?

Is my purchase shipped with insurance?

Yes – every order is fully insured for the complete purchase price, giving you peace of mind from the moment it leaves us until it arrives safely at your door.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged?

If your order arrives damaged, don’t worry—you’re fully protected. Every purchase is insured for its full value. Just reach out to us at makiakreations@gmail.com, and we’ll help resolve it quickly. Here’s what to do: Take clear photos of the packaging and the damaged product as soon as you receive it. Contact us right away with the photos and your order details. We’ll file the claim with the shipping insurer on your behalf. You’ll be covered for the full purchase amount, and we’ll guide you through a replacement or credit. We want you to feel confident shopping with us—we’ll make sure you’re taken care of promptly.
What is your return policy?

Return Policy We want you to love your purchase. If you need to request a return, we’ll review each case carefully. If your return is approved, you will receive store credit to apply toward another product of your choice. Customers are responsible for shipping the item back and insuring it.
Are your charcuterie boards and river boards food safe?

Yes – all charcuterie and river boards are treated with Odie’s Oil, a non-toxic, food-safe finish that penetrates and protects the wood without harmful chemicals.
Can I cut on a charcuterie board or river board?

No – these boards are not designed as cutting boards. They’re crafted to beautifully showcase your creations. Cutting directly on them may cause damage to the wood or chip the epoxy, so we recommend using a separate cutting surface to keep your board in perfect condition.
Are cutting boards and island boards safe to cut on?

Yes – our Cutting and Island Boards are made for food preparation and are 100% food-safe. Just remember: if a board has epoxy or a special surface, it’s for presentation only—not for chopping.
How do you choose the design for your handcrafted boards?

Each board begins with the wood itself. Every piece carries its own energy, grain, and character. I let that guide my attention and creativity, allowing the natural flow of the wood to inspire the final design. When I work with wood, I let its natural energy flow, and guide me. Each piece has a character of its own, and when I focus on that flow, the design reveals itself. That’s where the magic happens.”
